Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mauler Jackman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Petro Poroshenko! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jackman looks to throw the jab but Poroshenko is out of range. Poroshenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackman.
Jackman misses with a few strikes there.
Poroshenko walks into a jab. Jackman moves into the clinch successfully.
A short left from Jackman. Jackman is working Poroshenko over against the cage. Poroshenko changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jackman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jackman scores with a slapping inside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poroshenko checks a leg kick nicely. Poroshenko throws out a counter right but Jackman avoids it with no problem. Jackman connects with a solid leg kick. Poroshenko takes a jab right on the kisser.
It looks like Petro Poroshenko has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackman takes a swing at Poroshenko's ribcage but misses. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Poroshenko! But no joy. Jackman feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Poroshenko's calf. Jackman connects with an inside leg kick. Jab from Jackman. Jackman dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jackman misses with a leg kick and Poroshenko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Poroshenko. Jackman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Poroshenko pushes Jackman off looking to stand but Jackman dives back in and keeps control.
Poroshenko tries to get to full guard but Jackman has control of the leg. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Poroshenko wants to get back to his feet.
Jackman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Poroshenko is looking to escape. Poroshenko avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jackman. Jackman controlling the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poroshenko controlling the position for now. Poroshenko has one foot on Jackman's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Jackman throws a hook to the side of Poroshenko's head but Poroshenko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mauler Jackman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jab, jab by Jackman - just one landing. Jackman misses with a straight left. A jab from Jackman misses. Poroshenko is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Poroshenko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Poroshenko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jackman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jackman has his hands on Poroshenko's head, controlling the position. Poroshenko is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
It looks like Mauler Jackman has been cut. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Poroshenko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackman holds on and takes a little breather. Poroshenko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackman wants to stand and escape but Poroshenko is having none of it. Poroshenko with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mauler Jackman's cut is getting worse. Poroshenko is fighting to break Jackman's control of his arms but Jackman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Jackman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Poroshenko throws a big elbow that misses. Jackman keeping moving, preventing Poroshenko from controlling successfully. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Poroshenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jackman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jackman keeping moving, preventing Poroshenko from controlling successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jackman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jackman throws a punch but it's blocked by Poroshenko. Poroshenko goes for a takedown attempt but Jackman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mauler Jackman dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Jackman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jackman throws a leg kick but Poroshenko moved away. Jackman waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Poroshenko. Petro Poroshenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackman scores with a body shot.
Jackman moves into range and clinches up with Poroshenko. Poroshenko is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jackman gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Poroshenko has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jackman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Jackman lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Poroshenko as Jackman tries to tie him up. Jackman lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Poroshenko backwards. Jackman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Poroshenko can do to turn this around? Jackman lands a hook to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poroshenko is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jackman is defending well. Mauler Jackman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Petro Poroshenko. Poroshenko drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackman pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Poroshenko checks a leg kick. Poroshenko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jackman defends it well. Jackman cracks Poroshenko with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. An inside leg kick lands from Jackman. Jackman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Poroshenko sees it coming and avoids it easily. A decent looking cross lands there for Jackman.
That has opened up Petro Poroshenko's cut even more. Jackman is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jackman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jackman throws a body shot but no joy. A looping hook to the body misses from Jackman. Poroshenko does a little dance to reset his feet. Jackman throws an overhand right that drops Poroshenko like a sack of potatoes! Jackman dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
