Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Runar Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Woodward Glass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Woodward Glass was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Runar Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Woodward Glass! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glass darts in and clinches Nelson up against the cage. Nelson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Glass slows down the pace here.
Nelson is looking to break free of the clinch but Glass has double underhooks. Nelson tries to break free but Glass pushes him back against the cage. Glass with a knee to the head.

Glass tries a knee to the head but Nelson blocks it.
Glass effectively controlling the action here. Nelson is trying to force a seperation but Glass has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass looking to throw knees to the head but Nelson is blocking nicely.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Glass softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Nelson throws a head punch that misses. I was talking to Nelson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Nelson misses with a hook to the ribs.
Glass working Nelson over with knees to the body. Nelson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Glass tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nelson misses with a two punch combination.

Glass has Nelson pressed against the cage, preventing Nelson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nelson is trying to push Glass away but Glass has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Glass throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nelson blocks it with crossed arms. Nelson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Nelson tries to circle away but Glass has him pinned against the cage. Glass tries to work over Nelson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Glass misses with a knee strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Nelson. Nelson throws a series of punches but Glass avoids them all with ease. Nelson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Nelson throws a nice head kick!

Glass has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A big left from Nelson misses. Nelson wants to slow Glass down by chopping away at his legs. Glass avoids the head kick by Nelson.
A nice side step and Glass releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Glass scores with a jab. Nelson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Nelson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Glass back to the cage. Nelson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Nelson gets tackled into the cage by Glass. Glass maintains the clinch. Glass will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Nelson up against the cage. Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Glass closes the distance and clinches.

Nelson tries to land a front kick but Glass steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nelson throws a sloppy head kick and Glass moves out of range easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Glass fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nelson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Glass instigates a clinch. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Glass obliges. Glass prevents Nelson from breaking the clinch. Glass with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Glass unloads a knee to the mid-section. Nelson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Glass moves into the clinch. Nelson takes a knee right on the jaw!

Nelson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
