Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Tj Storm and Christian Kondyt. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Tj Storm! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Christian Kondyt! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Storm clinches up with Kondyt and pushes him back against the cage. Kondyt wants a takedown but no success here.
Storm prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kondyt tries to score a body lock takedown but Storm shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Tj Storm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Kondyt. Storm is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kondyt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Storm has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Kondyt is looking for a takedown. Kondyt is pressed up against the cage. Storm has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kondyt down to the mat. Kondyt avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kondyt tries to close the distance and clinch but Storm swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Storm has closed the distance and engaged Kondyt in a clinch.
Kondyt has Storm pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Storm manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Storm gets control of Kondyt's arms and successfully pulls guard. Storm will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Kondyt forces his way into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kondyt is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kondyt is working for a submission of some sort.
Kondyt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kondyt is looking for a kimura here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Storm keeping control of the position. Kondyt seems to be working for a kimura but Storm defends the submission attempt. Storm wants to improve his position but Kondyt is controlling well.
Kondyt is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Storm sees it coming and defends easily. Kondyt is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kondyt in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Storm tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kondyt!
