Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Peck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Peck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Sam Gray!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peck fails with the takedown.
Peck tries to clinch but Gray is having none of it.

Peck feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gray wants to sweep here but Peck controlling him for the moment.
Peck trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gray controlling Peck's posture.
Peck is breathing heavily.
Gray wants to get back to his feet but Peck is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Peck trying to control but Gray is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gray has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Peck fails with a takedown attempt.
Gray wants to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gray tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Peck counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Peck.
Peck tries to pull guard but Gray won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Peck. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gray landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Gray lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Gray connects with a nasty looking knee right to Peck's face.

Gray breaks the clinch.
Gray tries to clinch up.
Gray throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gray fails to land with a series of punches.
Gray lands a nice hook to Peck's body. Peck takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Peck counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Gray is looking to clinch.
Gray throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gray swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gray fails with a takedown attempt.
Gray moves in looking to clinch but Peck pushes him off.
Peck has a takedown stuffed.
Peck swats away the attempt to clinch by Gray.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Peck avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gray fails in his attempt to clinch.

Gray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Peck, pushing him back against the cage.
Peck wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gray has him pressed against the cage.

Gray is trying to trip Peck. He has hold of a leg but Peck is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gray persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Gray dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gray shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peck as he jumps to the side.
Peck wants to clinch
and Gray counters with a nice low kick that buckles Peck's knee momentarily.

and Peck counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gray wants to sweep here but Peck controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Peck prevents Gray from getting back to his feet.

Gray is pulling down on Peck's head to control his posture.

Gray pushes Peck off and gets back to his feet.
Gray fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Peck tries to clinch but Gray moves out of range.
Peck fails to land the takedown.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gray looks to land a combination but Peck avoids it well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gray looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A punch lands to the side of Peck 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gray moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Gray lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gray fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gray throws a right and a left that both miss.

Gray throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gray swats away the attempt to clinch by Peck.
Gray misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Peck.
Gray tries to clinch up.
Peck doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gray counters with a one-two to the body.
Scott Peck is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Peck shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Peck. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peck throws a body kick the misses

and Gray counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Peck wants to improve his position but instead Gray has moved into half guard.
Peck trying to hold on to Gray's head to control him but Gray postures up.
Gray trying to control the action but Peck is working from the bottom.
Gray content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Gray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A combination from Gray does no damage.
Gray wants to clinch.
Gray is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peck throws a combination that misses

so Gray counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Gray prevents Peck from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Peck looking to control.

Gray wanted to stand there but Peck had control of the position.

Peck working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Peck is looking to stand up but Gray isn't so interested in that idea.
Gray wants to get up but he can't break Peck's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Sam Gray is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Peck wants to sweep here but Gray controlling him for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gray fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Gray looks to land a combination. Peck sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Peck misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gray clinches but Peck breaks the clinch
and Peck counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Peck slips a jab and a cross from Gray.
Peck is looking to clinch but Gray is avoiding it.
Gray wants to clinch.
Peck misses with a straight left.
Gray looks to land a combination. Peck sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Peck tries to clinch there but Gray circles away.
Gray connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Peck momentarily.
Scott Peck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peck avoids a punch combination nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gray tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peck swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gray changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peck tries to avoid it but Gray manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peck to the ground. Peck escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Peck.
Gray wants to clinch up but Peck keeps it at a distance.
Gray is looking to clinch.
Peck tries for a takedown but Gray sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gray misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Scott Peck has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sam Gray comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gray has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
