Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lucien Simoneau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simoneau comes to the cage accompanied by Dérangeant - Groovy Aardvark. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucien Simoneau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Smith! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith lands the left hand. Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Simoneau has time to react. Smith throws a series of strikes that have Simoneau backpedaling.
Smith lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Smith scores with a body shot.
Smith cracks Simoneau with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Smith uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice jab there from Smith. Simoneau gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Smith avoids a kick to the body.
Simoneau darts in trying to clinch and Simoneau takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Smith scores with a jab to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith with a nice cross. Smith is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Simoneau had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Smith scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A lazy left from Smith finds it's target. Smith tests Simoneau's chin there with a solid looking shot. Smith darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Smith avoids the body shot from Simoneau.
Smith looks like he wants to counter punch here. Smith lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Horrible takedown attempt by Simoneau or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith, which made it look bad. Simoneau looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Simoneau fails with a takedown attempt. As Simoneau backs off Smith throws a huge counter combo but Simoneau manages to avoid it all.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Simoneau. Smith looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucien Simoneau. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jab, jab by Smith - just one landing. Smith might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Smith lands the left hand. Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Simoneau is rocked! Simoneau changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Oh Simoneau is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Simoneau throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Simoneau seems to have got his legs back now. Simoneau is putting a hurting on Smith here, landing some big shots from side control. Smith wants to control but Simoneau postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to improve his position. Smith pushes Simoneau away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Simoneau gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith keeping his opponent close. Smith is not content to let Simoneau control the position. Smith tries to escape but Simoneau is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Smith managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Simoneau.

Simoneau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Simoneau working the ground and pound but Smith is defending the strikes. Simoneau looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Simoneau cracks Smith with a big right hand but Smith just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Smith stops Simoneau from passing to mount. Simoneau sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Smith is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Simoneau looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Smith is avoiding damage well.

Simoneau tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Simoneau has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Smith dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Simoneau on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Simoneau fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Smith lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Simoneau backs up against the cage.
Nice jab there from Smith. Lucien Simoneau is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Billy Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. Smith scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Simoneau takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Simoneau has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Simoneau there as he acknowledges the shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Simoneau dives in for a single leg takedown but Smith sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Simoneau shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucien Simoneau. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Simoneau doesn't seem bothered though. Billy Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith moves into range and connects with a jab. Smith cracks Simoneau on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Simoneau falls backwards against the cage. Smith follows up with more strikes that drop Simoneau to his knees. Smith keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Simoneau! This one is all over!
