Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Norbert Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Spadoni! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spadoni misses with a series of wild punches.
Spadoni misses with a combination
and Taylor counters with a shoot takedown. Spadoni fights it but they end up in guard. Spadoni looks winded! Taylor stands up from Spadoni's guard - Taylor perhaps looking for a knockout. Taylor forces Spadoni back against the cage and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor wants to take the fight to the mat but Spadoni manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Taylor manages to break the clinch.
Taylor keeps the fight on the outside. Taylor changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Spadoni shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Taylor is concentrating on defense, preventing Spadoni from advancing position. I've been told that Spadoni has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game. Spadoni is looking to stall here but Taylor recovers full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Taylor lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Spadoni to stand up. Spadoni darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Taylor manages to get to full guard.
Taylor is looking for a triangle but Spadoni pushes his legs off easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor is controlling Spadoni's posture. Spadoni pushes down on Taylor's leg and manages to get into half guard. Taylor wants to control but Spadoni is keeping busy and won't allow it. Spadoni is looking to take a break and control but Taylor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Spadoni is looking to advance position but Taylor won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Spadoni is trying to control. Taylor wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Taylor keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Spadoni prevents Taylor from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spadoni working Taylor over with strikes. Taylor is pressing down on Spadoni's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Norbert Taylor dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Spadoni darts in trying to clinch and Taylor counters with a lovely straight right hand! Spadoni throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Norbert Taylor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Taylor takes the fight into the clinch. Taylor breaks from the clinch.

Spadoni throws a nice looking combination but Taylor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Spadoni is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor drives through with a takedown into guard. Spadoni is wriggling around but Taylor manages to pass to half guard.
Spadoni is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Norbert Taylor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Spadoni is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spadoni throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Taylor is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Spadoni can do to turn this around? Spadoni trying to hold on to Taylor's head to control him but Taylor postures up.
Spadoni is looking to get back to full guard here but Taylor has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spadoni is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Taylor working away. Taylor decides to stand up, so the ref orders Spadoni to his feet. Spadoni swinging wildly here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Spadoni is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Taylor's half guard. Taylor works his way to full guard. Good work. Taylor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Spadoni's guard.
Spadoni is working an open guard so Taylor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Taylor gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Taylor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spadoni is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Taylor seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Taylor closes the distance and pushes Spadoni back into the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Norbert Taylor dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Taylor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Taylor. Taylor moves into the clinch successfully.

A head kick misses from Taylor. Taylor moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromSpadoni. Spadoni throws a right and a left that both miss. Taylor lands a head kick!
Taylor tries to bum rush Spadoni with a series of wild strikes but Spadoni uses good footwork to avoid the assault. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor lands a two punch combo.
Spadoni is rocked! Spadoni takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Taylor clinches up against the cage. Spadoni is still on wobbly legs! Can Taylor finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Taylor scores a nice knee to the body.
Spadoni being controlled against the cage. Taylor jerks Spadoni's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Spadoni drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Taylor goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Taylor because Spadoni was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
