Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jari Byczynski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Russell Lynn!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Darius Henderson and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynn tries a head kick but it misses.
Byczynski checks a leg kick nicely.
Byczynski throwing a counter right hand but Lynn manages to avoid it.
Lynn misses with an attempted mid kick.
A quick step to the side and Byczynski tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Byczynski fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Byczynski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Byczynski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lynn just misses with a punch to the body.
Byczynski throws a nice outside leg kick.
Byczynski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Byczynski throws a leg kick but Lynn checks it.
Byczynski has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Lynn takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Lynn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lynn darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Jari Byczynski has been cut.
Russell Lynn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lynn dives in and grabs Byczynski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Byczynski pushes down on Lynn's head and hops out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Byczynski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Lynn is rocked!
Byczynski ducks under a wild hook from Lynn.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lynn lands a big head kick that sends Byczynski to the canvas! Lynn follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
