Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Haywood Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evan West looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Haywood Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Evan West! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches West napping and manages to drive through into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. West tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nelson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nelson controlling the position from side mount. Nelson scoring with punches from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nelson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. West is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Nelson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, West has escaped the position, nice work there. Nelson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt West will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Nelson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but West is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nelson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by West, who protects the arm well. West is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Nelson lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused West some visible discomfort.
Nelson is trying to get an arm triangle but West is defending well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nelson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Nelson scoring with punches from side control. Nelson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. West can't do much from the bottom here. West looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. West seems a little lost for a moment, as Nelson dominates the positioning. Nelson lands some shots froms side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. West explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Nelson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. West tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Nelson manages to move to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Haywood Nelson dominated that round. That's time! Nelson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nelson moves away from the strike by West. Nelson is looking to counter punch. Nice sprawl there from West as Nelson shoots in. West lands a really nice looking cross but Nelson seems unphased.
Evan West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. West throws a head kick but Nelson moves out of range.
West tries a head kick but it misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from West. West stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and West wants it to stay on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. West swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nelson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. West prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haywood Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nelson pulls guard effortlessly. West is breathing heavily. West stands up and waves to Nelson to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. West gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. West wants to stand and escape but Nelson is having none of it. Nelson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. West looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Nelson has picked West up and slammed him! West can't keep hold of the triangle and Nelson manages to pass to side control! Haywood Nelson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nelson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. West looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nelson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. West is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nelson lets go of the hold and West can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Haywood Nelson!
