The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz has his takedown stuffed
and Lawton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lawton ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Diaz shoots in looking for a takedown. Lawton tries to sprawl out of it but Diaz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lawton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz shoots and misses
and Lawton counters with a right hand to the body.

Diaz ducks right into an uppercut from Lawton.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lawton scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Lawton throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Diaz on the side of the head.

It looks like Alexander Diaz has been cut.
Diaz seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Lawton shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Diaz is backing up but Lawton catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Diaz covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Lawton Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
