Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kabal Labak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duane Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kabal Labak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duane Perry! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Labak. Perry lands a nice shot that snaps Labak's head back.
Perry throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Labak lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Perry throws a lazy right hand but Labak sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Perry turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Labak has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Perry. Labak fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Perry to the ground. Labak is now in Perry's guard. Labak missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Labak distracts Perry with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perry wants to stand and escape but Labak is having none of it. Labak trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom. Perry trying to control the position here. Perry working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Labak.
That's one minute gone in the round. Labak trying to control the position from guard on top but Perry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Labak stops Perry from standing up. Labak lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Labak postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Labak wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving. Labak cracks Perry with a solid left hand. Labak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Labak keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Perry's head. Labak lands a couple of digs. Labak throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Perry works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Perry preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Perry told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Labak might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Labak trying to control the position from guard on top but Perry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Labak is looking to work some ground and pound but Perry has wrist control. Labak is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Perry wants to stand but Labak is controlling the position. Perry tries to land a sweep but no joy. Perry seems keen to control Labak's posture. Perry keeping moving, preventing Labak from controlling successfully. Labak throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Perry works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Perry controls Labak momentarily but Labak frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That's four minutes gone in the round. Labak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Labak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perry swivels though and keeps the full guard. Perry wants to stand up but Labak is controlling him. Labak trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Perry scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Labak fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Perry has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Labak looks for the body kick but Perry saw that one coming. Labak jabs at Perry's body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perry lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Perry. Perry fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Labak. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Labak lands a right hook to the body.
Perry pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Labak is looking to counter the offense by Perry and move into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kabal Labak dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Labak getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Perry scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Labak lands with a straight right. Perry didn't see that one coming. Labak throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Perry stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Perry explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Perry throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Labak connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Perry fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Labak. Labak scores with a decent looking hook. Perry defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Labak. Labak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Perry can do to turn this around? Perry keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Labak. Perry tries to land a leg kick but Labak saw it coming and moves away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Perry turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Labak throws out a leg kick but Perry moves out of range and Labak only half commits. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Labak, right into the meat.

That's one minute gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Perry, as that shot connected.
Labak pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Perry throws out a counter right but Labak avoids it with no problem. Perry throws a head kick that misses. Perry throws a shot from downtown. Labak moves away and avoids it. Perry wants to land a leg kick but Labak is out of range. Nice jab there from Labak. Labak buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Perry blocks a jab. Labak backing away here, and Perry unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Labak attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Perry tries to sprawl but Labak drives through with a takedown into half guard. Perry desperately trying to maintain half guard. Labak drops an elbow to the side of Perry's head. Perry is staying active underneath Labak, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Labak is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Perry is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Perry taking some punishment here, with Labak in his half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Perry manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Labak scoring with some ground and pound. Labak wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving. Labak makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Perry is trying to control the position but Labak postures up. Perry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Perry can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Labak controls the pace. Perry wants to stand but Labak is controlling the position. Labak trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom.

Duane Perry seems to be getting the better of the standup. Perry is breathing heavily. Labak checks a low kick from Perry. Labak throws a solid leg kick but Perry takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Labak. Perry looks like he wants to counter punch here. Perry on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Labak throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Labak connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Perry momentarily.
Duane Perry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Labak changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Labak looks to land a right hand but Perry moved out of range. Labak backing away here, and Perry unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Perry gets caught flat footed, as Labak shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Perry manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Labak jumps guard.
Labak lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Labak working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Perry's head. Labak trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom. Labak working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Labak postures up in Perry's guard and throws a big left but Perry blocks it. Perry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Labak trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Labak's corner is telling him to maintain position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kabal Labak dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Perry scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Labak gets a clinch. Labak working some nice short punches in the clinch. I was talking to Labak's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Labak blocks an uppercut.
Perry tries to throw a body punch but Labak avoids it by throwing Perry back against the cage. Labak lands with a short head shot on the inside. Labak scores with a nice hook to the head. Perry swings wildly with an uppercut but Labak uses good head movement to avoid it. Perry misses with the head strike.
Labak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Labak cracks the inside of Perry's front leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perry misses with a two punch combination.
Perry doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Labak throws a front kick aimed at Perry's knee but Perry avoids it well. Labak thows a leg kick but Perry checks it and Perry counters with a takedown into side control. Perry takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Labak manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's one minute gone in the round. Labak is nestled in close to Perry, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Labak looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Perry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Labak is trying to work for a kimura but Perry is defending well.

Perry tries to kick Labak off but Labak keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Perry is positioning himself well to prevent Labak advancing to mount. Labak performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Perry wants to get back to his feet. Duane Perry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Labak is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Perry has managed to free his arm - good work. The fighters are battling for position here. Perry manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Labak won't allow Perry to sweep him here. Kabal Labak is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Labak is in close to Perry's body, working some short punches and elbows. Labak controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Labak seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Perry for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Labak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Perry is keeping the position for now. Perry can't keep his opponent in guard - Labak advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Labak lands a nice short elbow. Labak stops Perry from getting back to his feet.
Labak trying to mount his opponent but Perry defends it. Labak takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Perry throws a leg kick that is checked and Labak counters with a nice low kick that buckles Perry's knee momentarily. Labak wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Labak lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Labak lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Kabal Labak showed his dominance in that final round. Well Labak has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
