5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rico Verhoeven! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuznetcov lands a slapping body shot.
Kuznetcov fails with the takedown. Verhoeven is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kuznetcov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Verhoeven defends it nicely. Verhoeven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kuznetcov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kuznetcov cracks Verhoeven with a solid left hand. Kuznetcov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Verhoeven works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kuznetcov is looking to work some ground and pound but Verhoeven has wrist control. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kuznetcov accidentally thumps the mat. Verhoeven is rocked! Kuznetcov throws a big elbow that misses. Kuznetcov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrey Kuznetcov dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kuznetcov closes the distance looking for a takedown. Kuznetcov picks Verhoeven up and slams him brutally to the floor. Verhoeven is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
