Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carson Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Stones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carson Johnson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carson Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stevie Stones!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots for a takedown but Stones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Stones gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Stones pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Stones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson pushes down on Stones's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Stones pushes Johnson off and gets back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson.

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Stones is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
Stones wants to stand but Johnson is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stones stalling.
Stones sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Johnson defending well though.

Stones perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Johnson trying to control but Stones postures up.

Stones seems to be looking for submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Stones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Stones shows good takedown defense.

Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stones swivels and escapes.
Stones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
Johnson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Stones looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
Stones checks the leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Stones shoots in.
Stones fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stones as he avoids it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but Stones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stones prevents a takedown attempt there.

Stones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stones shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense.
Johnson tried to counter with a leg kick but Stones avoided it.
Stones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stones lands a nice looking kick to the body. Johnson takes a step back to recover.
Stones shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.

Stones closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Stones drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stones tries to pull guard but Johnson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Stones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Johnson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Stones pulls guard successfully.
Johnson trying to control but Stones is working from the bottom.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Stones lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Johnson managing to control the position.
Stones throws a big right hand that misses.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stones defends it easily.
Stones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stones trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Stones stays in close to Johnson's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stones.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stones tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stones is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Johnson is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stevie Stones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Stones has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stones is trying to pull guard but Johnson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Stones blocks an elbow strike from Johnson.

Stones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stones goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward.
A little feinted left hand from Johnson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Stones is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Stones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Stones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Stones moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Stones.
Carson Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stevie Stones.
Stones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnson defends well and Stones ends up having to push Johnson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Johnson appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Johnson throws the left hand but Stones avoids the punch easily.
Stones misses with a wild combination.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Johnson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Stones slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Johnson throws a front kick aimed at Stones's knee but Stones avoids it well.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Stones tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromStones.
Stones swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
Stones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Johnson.
Johnson stuns Stones with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Johnson throws a leg kick but Stones checks it.
Stones shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense.
Johnson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Stones manages to circle out of the way.

Stones clinches with his opponent.

Stones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stones dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Stones's head and hops out.
Johnson stuffs the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stones tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stones to the ground. Stones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Stones rushes Johnson and presses him up against the cage.
Stones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Johnson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Stones prevents a takedown attempt there.

Stones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Stones moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stones avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Stones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carson Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stevie Stones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Johnson misses with a body shot.

Stevie Stones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
