Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aigars Senko and Jon Monroe. Senko comes to the cage accompanied by Hall of Fame by The Script. Monroe is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Aigars Senko! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 3 losses; Jon Monroe! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Senko fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Monroe to the ground. Senko is now in Monroe's guard. Senko has got his arm under Monroe's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Monroe has spun round into Senko's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Monroe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Monroe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Monroe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Senko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Senko keeping full guard, as Monroe tries to pass. Monroe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Monroe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Monroe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Senko swivels though and keeps the full guard. Monroe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

And that's the end of the fight! Senko takes the fight on points by 17 to 4. In his post fight interview, Aigars Senko started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. |
