Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edwardo Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edwardo Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Davis!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Burns can't break the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Burns is trying to break the clinch but Davis has him pressed against the cage.
Burns tries to break free but Davis pushes him back against the cage.
Burns gets underhooks to prevent Davis's takedown attempt.
Burns trying to control the position but instead, Davis has worked for underhooks and has pushed Burns into the cage.
Davis is trying to pull guard but Burns has him pressed against the cage.
Burns throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Davis stalling against the cage.

Davis successfully pulls guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Davis wants to sweep but no luck.
Davis keeps trying to improve his position.
Davis is adopting a defensive guard.

Burns is looking to work some ground and pound but Davis has wrist control.

Davis has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Burns is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Burns jumps guard but Davis stands there with Burns around his waist. Burns gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Davis is working for takedown but Burns is calmly controlling the position for now.
Edwardo Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Davis.
Davis throws a knee to the head but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burns is trying to break the clinch but Davis is controlling him.
Burns fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Davis lands a body punch in the clinch.

Davis has hold of one of Burns's legs. Burns is fighting the takedown attempt but Davis gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Burns wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Davis manages to pass to side control.

Davis content to control rather than advance.
Burns manages to get to full guard.
Davis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Davis might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Davis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Davis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Burns looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Davis.
Davis pushes down on Burns's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Davis content to control rather than advance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burns is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Davis dominated that round.
That's time! Burns's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Davis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Davis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Burns defends it nicely.
And Burns counters with a quick kick to the body but Davis blocks it.
Burns tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.
Burns wants to clinch.
And Davis tries to counter it with a takedown but Burns pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jack Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burns walks into a left hand.

Davis rushes Burns and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Davis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Burns throws a knee to the head but misses.
Burns gets underhooks to prevent Davis's takedown attempt.
Davis tries to score a body lock takedown but Burns shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Davis lands a hook that snaps the head of Burns backwards.
Burns tries to throw a body punch but Davis avoids it by throwing Burns back against the cage.

Davis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Burns in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Davis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Davis is looking to sweep but instead, Burns has passed into half guard.
Davis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Burns's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Burns's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Davis controlling the positon.
Burns is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Davis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Davis is hanging on to Burns's back as he tries to escape.

Davis is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Burns has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jack Davis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Burns is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Burns is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Burns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Davis with the counter takedown but Burns avoids it easily.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Burns crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Davis - the referee stops the clock and Burns gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Davis. Burns manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Burns wants to clinch up but Davis keeps it at a distance.

Davis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Burns, pushing him back against the cage.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davis is defended easily by Burns.

Davis keeps the fight on the outside.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burns sprawls well. Burns wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.
As Davis backs away, Burns returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Davis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Burns is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Davis is looking to take this one to the mat.
Burns is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Davis is keeping busy.
Davis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Burns prevents it.
Davis is trying to pull guard but Burns has him pressed against the cage.

Davis changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Burns fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Davis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Burns was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Davis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Edwardo Burns has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jack Davis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Burns rushes Davis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jack Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Davis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
