Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kurtis Couturier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Ridgway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couturier comes to the cage accompanied by Forever Angel. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 4, fighting out of New York, Kurtis Couturier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gary Ridgway! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ridgway is looking to score with low kicks. Couturier steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ridgway. That one must have hurt. Couturier looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ridgway fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Gary Ridgway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ridgway throws a wild body kick that Couturier sees coming a mile off. Couturier keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ridgway misses with a body shot.
Ridgway swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Couturier counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ridgway on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Couturier with a jab. Ridgway dives in for a single leg takedown but Couturier sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Ridgway misses the body punch and Couturier counters with a good low kick that Ridgway was not able to check. Couturier darts in and out, connecting with a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Ridgway is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Couturier. Couturier tries to counter with a takedown but Ridgway is quick to defend against it. Couturier cracks the inside of Ridgway's front leg. Ridgway throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Couturier works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Gary Ridgway has been cut. Ridgway throws a head kick but Couturier moves out of range.
Couturier looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ridgway throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Couturier counters with a lovely straight right hand! Couturier tries to clinch and Ridgway counters with a nice double leg into side control. Couturier won't be happy with that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. A lull in the action here. Couturier is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ridgway working away. Couturier tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ridgway scores with a couple of short elbows. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ridgway works to advance to full mount. Couturier defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ridgway working the ground and pound effectively.
Couturier tries to lock up and control but Ridgway gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ridgway lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ridgway landing punches. Ridgway dominating with strikes here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ridgway is landing with some decent strikes but Couturier is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Couturier in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. BOOM! Ridgway connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Couturier is rocked! Ridgway softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Couturier is out cold! Ridgway jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gary Ridgway! An out of breath Gary Ridgway thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
