Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudolph Gilliam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rudolph Gilliam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds throws a sloppy head kick

and Gilliam counters with a takedown into side control.
Reynolds is trying to improve his position.
Reynolds regains half guard.
Gilliam wants to stand but Reynolds has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Gilliam with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Gilliam wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Reynolds wants to get back to full guard.
Gilliam wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Reynolds throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gilliam was covering up waiting for the punch and Reynolds finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Reynolds stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gilliam swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gilliam preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reynolds stops Gilliam from standing up.

Gilliam throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Reynolds escapes and throws Gilliam's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Gilliam is looking to reverse the position.
Reynolds tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gilliam's legs.
Gilliam wants to control but Reynolds postures up.
Gilliam is looking for a sweep.
Reynolds controls the position.
Gilliam is pushing Reynolds's head away, looking to escape. Reynolds manages to hold on to the position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reynolds wants to stand but Gilliam is controlling his arm.

Reynolds is trying to get an arm triangle but Gilliam is defending well.

Reynolds thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gilliam is not content to let Reynolds control the position.
Reynolds scoring with punches and elbows.
Gilliam is trying to get back to his feet.
Gilliam is trying to improve his position.

Reynolds sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gilliam is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Gilliam tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Reynolds easily slips into full mount!
Reynolds content just to control the position here.
Gilliam is desperately trying to improve his position but Reynolds has a good base and remains in mount.
Gilliam is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Reynolds controlling his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gilliam is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Reynolds content just to control the position here.

Reynolds fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gilliam sprawls well initially but Reynolds persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Reynolds is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Gilliam is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Reynolds has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Gilliam is tapping! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). James Reynolds!
