PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carson Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Coult (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carson Johnson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Johnson's coaches at Cozad The Island have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Coult missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Coult uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson. Coult swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Johnson is now in Coult's guard. A big mistake from Coult there, giving up the dominant position! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Coult wants to stand but Johnson is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coult is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Johnson has his hands clasped together but Coult extends and breaks Johnson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Coult.
