The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malone is trying to defend but Hardy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Malone tries to kick Hardy off in order to stand up. Hardy Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Malone really is a fat lump.
Hardy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Malone will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Let's hope that Hardy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Malone is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hardy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee asks Hardy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hardy prefers to stall for the moment though.
