Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ezra Pittman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nelson Mandela! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mandela closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mandela in the domination position with Pittman hanging on. Mandela takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Pittman to pass into mount. Mandela tries to control but Pittman wriggling away. You get the feeling that Pittman really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Mandela has hold of Pittman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pittman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mandela looking to ground and pound but Pittman is blocking nicely. Pittman flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Pittman holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Mandela tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mandela moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pittman has worked his arm free - good work by Pittman!
Pittman tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mandela working the strikes but Pittman uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Pittman missing with punches from the bottom.
Mandela wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pittman keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pittman is trying to get back to full guard. Pittman is not content to let Mandela control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mandela not landing any meaningful shots this time. Pittman trying to hold on to Mandela's head to control him but Mandela postures up.
Mandela trying to mount his opponent but Pittman defends it. Pittman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pittman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pittman wants to control but Mandela is keeping busy.
Mandela decides to stand and escape the position. Mandela throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pittman was covering up waiting for the punch and Mandela finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pittman looking to control but Mandela passes into half guard.
Pittman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pittman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mandela's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mandela's back! Pittman lands punches and elbows. Pittman looking to break Mandela's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mandela remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pittman will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Mandela tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Pittman is breathing heavily. Mandela bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Pittman keeping moving, preventing Mandela from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mandela is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pittman thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Pittman trying to strike off his back.
Mandela trying to control but Pittman is working from the bottom. Pittman trying to keep a closed guard but Mandela is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mandela stands and throws Pittman's legs to the side, diving into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nelson Mandela dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Pittman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mandela actively working from the bottom here. Mandela trying to control from the bottom.
Pittman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mandela looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mandela tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Pittman has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mandela is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pittman sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Nelson Mandela has got the better of the ground game so far. Mandela is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Pittman has taken his back! What can Mandela do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mandela turns into Pittman and is now in his guard.
Pittman keeping moving, preventing Mandela from controlling successfully. Pittman controls Mandela momentarily but Mandela frees himself. Mandela passes easily into side control. Nice work. Mandela postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mandela is looking to take a break and control but Pittman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pittman can't do much from the bottom here. Mandela decides to stand back up. Mandela moves into the clinch. Pittman breaks the clinch.

Mandela has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pittman keeping moving, preventing Mandela from controlling successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mandela pushing down on Pittman's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Mandela not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nelson Mandela showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Oh, he's out! The ref rips Mandela off his unconscious opponent!
