Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tangaroa Ngata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Maclaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ngata comes to the cage accompanied by Soundcritters - Haka War Chant. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maclaine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ngata was well out of range. Poor timing from Maclaine.
Maclaine throws a big shot that misses.
Ngata works Maclaine's body with a nice hook.
Maclaine is looking to clinch but Ngata is avoiding it.
Maclaine doesn't manage to clinch there - Ngata circles away.
Maclaine misses with an uppercut.

Ngata fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maclaine, pushing him back against the cage.
Maclaine has had enough of the clinch but Ngata keeps him there for the moment.
Ngata tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ngata stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Ngata works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Maclaine seems a little lost for a moment, as Ngata dominates the positioning.
Ngata has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
