Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kenuichio Harada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doc Dykstra!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dykstra wants to clinch up but Harada keeps it at a distance.
Kenuichio Harada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dykstra tries to land a front kick but Harada steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Dykstra takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Dykstra moves out of range as Harada throws a body kick.
Harada misses with an attempted mid kick.
Harada goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dykstra let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Dykstra lands a slapping body shot.
Harada scores with a push kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Harada crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dykstra - the referee stops the clock and Harada gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dykstra. Harada manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Harada swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dykstra lands a body shot.
Harada lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Jab, jab by Dykstra - just one landing.
Dykstra scores with a hook to the body. Harada takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Harada is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dykstra lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Harada turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Harada misses with a leg kick
and Dykstra counters with a crisp one two that drops Harada! Dykstra thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Harada to his feet! Harada is in big trouble!
Dykstra changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Harada takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dykstra pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dykstra has closed the distance and engaged Harada in a clinch.
Dykstra breaks the clinch.
Dykstra punishes Harada's body with a nice straight punch.
Harada has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Madness MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Dykstra drops Harada with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Harada looks back up at him and smiles so Dykstra waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Harada is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Harada ducks into an uppercut from Dykstra and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Doc Dykstra!
During a confident post fight interview, Doc Dykstra thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
