Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emil Gustafsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy comes to the cage accompanied by Hot Rod. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Murphy looks to land a combination but Gustafsson avoids it well.
Murphy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gustafsson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Murphy throws a one two combo.
It looks like Emil Gustafsson has been cut.

Murphy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Murphy sets himself, and Gustafsson steps forward looking for the clinch! Murphy avoids it this time.

Gustafsson with the counter takedown but Murphy avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Gustafsson gets a double leg takedown into Murphy's guard.
Murphy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gustafsson on the ground.
Gustafsson wants to control from the top but Murphy keeps moving.

Gustafsson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Murphy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Gustafsson is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Murphy has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gustafsson has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Murphy taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gustafsson doesn't care though - he's delighted!
