Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francois Permitis! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller tries for a takedown but Permitis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Permitis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Miller looking to hit a scissor sweep but Permitis is one step ahead there. Miller is trying to control the position but Permitis postures up. Miller looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Permitis looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller is trying to keep Permitis in close.
We've been hearing good reports from Miller's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Miller can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Permitis controls the pace. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller pulls Permitis in close to prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Miller shoots and misses so Permitis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Permitis trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Miller is trying to keep Permitis in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Permitis trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Miller trying to control the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Permitis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Miller's guard. Miller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Permitis scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Permitis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Permitis trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom. Permitis stands up from Miller's guard - Permitis perhaps looking for a knockout. Permitis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Miller tries to roll over but Permitis keeps him under control. Permitis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Miller slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Permitis postures up.
Permitis trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom. Permitis won't allow Miller to sweep him here. Permitis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Permitis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miller's guard. Miller pulls Permitis in close to his closed guard and prevents Permitis from doing any damage or advancing position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Miller wants to sweep here but Permitis controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Permitis is working for a kimura but Miller is defending it quite comfortably.

Permitis seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Miller is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
