PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Genji Tadahiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Bradley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Genji Tadahiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Bradley!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tadahiko fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tadahiko wants to clinch.
Bradley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bradley throws a shot to the body.
Eric Bradley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bradley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tadahiko is looking to improve his position.
Tadahiko is working hard here to advance position.
Tadahiko tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Tadahiko pushes Bradley off looking to stand but Bradley dives back in and keeps control.

Tadahiko trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Bradley is keen to just control but Tadahiko is a slippery customer.
Bradley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tadahiko knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Tadahiko kicks Bradley off and gets back to his feet.

Bradley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bradley keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tadahiko's head.

Bradley distracts Tadahiko with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Tadahiko wants to stand up but Bradley is controlling him.
Bradley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tadahiko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Tadahiko takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Bradley cracks Tadahiko with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Bradley cracks Tadahiko with a big right hand but Tadahiko just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Tadahiko is looking for a sweep.

Bradley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tadahiko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bradley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Bradley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tadahiko won't be happy with that.

Tadahiko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tadahiko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Eric Bradley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tadahiko closes the distance looking to clinch

so Bradley counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tadahiko wants to get back to his feet but Bradley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bradley tries to free his leg and advance position but Tadahiko is retaining full guard.
Tadahiko has momentary wrist control but Bradley slips an elbow through the middle.

Tadahiko uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Tadahiko throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Bradley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Bradley counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tadahiko!

Tadahiko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tadahiko sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Bradley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tadahiko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bradley shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bradley was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Tadahiko is looking to improve his position but Bradley isn't that keen on the idea.

Bradley is working for a guillotine from mount but Tadahiko frees his head quite easily.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Tadahiko has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bradley can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee warns Bradley that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Tadahiko lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Tadahiko is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bradley can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Tadahiko wants to finish this one by submission but Bradley is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tadahiko.
