Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Clements (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Barath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Barath is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ernesto Clements! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Barath! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clements is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Barath's half guard. Barath is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Clements throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Clements trying to control from half guard but Barath is working away. Clements sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Barath defending well though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barath is looking to get back to full guard here but Clements has managed to pass to side control instead. Clements trying to control the position but Barath is working away. Barath tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Clements wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barath is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Clements is controlling him well. Clements throws an elbow but Barath slips to the side and avoids it well. Barath defending against the ground and pound. Clements misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Barath taking a bit of punishment here - Clements scoring with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clements misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Barath avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Clements. Barath is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Barath can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Barath shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Clements's guard. Clements looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barath is one step ahead there. Clements pulls Barath in close to prevent any damage. Barath won't allow Clements to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barath is looking to work some ground and pound but Clements has wrist control. Barath preventing the sweep. Barath postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Clements is trying to control the position but Barath postures up. Barath wants to pass the guard but Clements is keeping the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Clements is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Barath working a defensive guard but Clements passes into half guard.
Clements throws a strike but Barath avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Clements won't allow Barath to get back to his feet. Clements is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Clements will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Barath wants to sweep here but Clements controlling him for the moment. Barath looks winded! Barath being controlled here, momentarily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ernesto Clements dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Clements throws a series of punches but Barath avoids them all with ease. Barath shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barath showed some decent athleticism there. Clements manages to get to full guard.
Clements pulls Barath in to control the position. Barath postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clements looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Barath puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Clements wants to control but Barath is keeping busy.
Clements really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Clements won't allow Barath to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clements pushes Barath off looking to stand but Barath dives back in and keeps control.
Clements moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Barath wants to control from the top but Clements keeps moving. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Clements is on top in guard.
Clements has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Clements looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Clements seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Barath for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Clements landing some decent shots from guard. Barath is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Barath working a defensive guard but Clements passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barath is not content to let Clements control the position. Clements controlling the pace. Clements throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Barath wants to control but Clements is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Clements throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Barath's head. Barath blocks a head kick by Clements.
Clements throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barath closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Clements's guard. Clements has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Barath has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Clements tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Barath just stands there and leans against the cage. Clements jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barath walks away with a smile on his face. Clements gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Chris Barath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barath moves into the clinch successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Clements tries to pull guard but Barath won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ernesto Clements. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barath trying to land knees to the body.
Barath gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Clements regains guard.
Barath stopping the sweep attempt from Clements. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barath controlling from the top position. Barath passes into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ernesto Clements will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Clements is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ernesto Clements overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Clements controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Barath pulls Clements in to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Clements is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Barath can do to turn this around? Clements swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barath is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Barath closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Barath in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Clements throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Clements smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Clements. Those never looked like landing. Clements takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Clements misses with a jab, cross combination.
Barath drives through with a takedown into Clements's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Clements is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Barath gets control of Clements's arms and successfully pulls guard. Barath will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Clements cracks Barath with a solid left hand. Clements is looking to work some ground and pound but Barath has wrist control. Barath is looking to sweep but instead, Clements has passed into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Clements is looking for a kimura but Barath is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Clements to get the leverage. Barath is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that's the end of the fight! Ernesto Clements showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Clements, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
