Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Kubiak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Blitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Blitz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Paddy Kubiak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Blitz! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kubiak shoots in looking for a takedown but Blitz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kubiak's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Blitz drives through and clinches with Kubiak against the cage.
Blitz told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Blitz lands a knee to the head.
Kubiak is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Blitz gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Blitz just leaning against Kubiak, taking a breather. Blitz has Kubiak pushed against the cage. Blitz manages to pull guard.
Kubiak postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blitz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kubiak, into his guard.
Blitz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kubiak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blitz tries to stand but Kubiak is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kubiak can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Blitz controls the pace. Blitz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kubiak is proving hard to escape from. Blitz postures up in Kubiak's guard and throws a big left but Kubiak blocks it. Kubiak looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Kubiak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blitz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kubiak has his foot on Blitz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blitz works his way back into a safe position though. Blitz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kubiak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Blitz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kubiak is keeping the position for now. Blitz postures up in Kubiak's guard and throws a big left but Kubiak blocks it. Blitz sitting in guard here, content to control. Kubiak trying to keep a closed guard but Blitz is proving a slippery customer.
Blitz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Kubiak doesn't succeed with the takedown and Blitz counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paddy Kubiak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blitz leaves Kubiak with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kubiak throws a right and a left that both miss. Kubiak tries for a takedown but Blitz circles away easily and Blitz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Blitz moves into range and clinches up with Kubiak. Blitz stalling the fight.
Blitz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kubiak with a lazy takedown attempt and Blitz counters with a series of strikes. Kubiak will be more careful next time no doubt. Blitz connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Kubiak tumbling to the canvas! Blitz pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Kubiak was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). John Blitz! John Blitz very nearly forgot to thank Mohito Fightwear (Laundry) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
