PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jason the warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). the warrior has chosen afro brazzilian music as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, jason the warrior!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Parker does no damage.
Parker looks to throw the jab but the warrior is out of range.
Parker drops the warrior with a right and a left! Parker comes rushing in but the warrior regains his composure and manages to keep Parker in guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as the warrior holds on and takes a little breather.

Parker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Parker throws a right and a left that the warrior avoids nicely.
Parker throws a hook to the side of the warrior's head but the warrior sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

the warrior is looking to take a break and control but Parker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

the warrior tries to pull guard but Parker won't allow it.

Parker is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Parker's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

the warrior ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. the warrior no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

the warrior isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Parker stacks the warrior on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Parker!

Parker wants to lay and pray for a moment but the warrior keeps working.

Parker decides to take the fight back to the feet.

the warrior shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parker but Parker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Peter Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jason the warrior.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Parker.
Parker cracks the warrior with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

the warrior darts in and clinches Parker up against the cage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

No joy there for Parker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Parker is trying to break the clinch but the warrior has him pressed against the cage.
the warrior has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Parker is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

and the warrior counters with a big head kick but Parker shrugs it off.
Parker looks to land a right hand but the warrior moved out of range.
Parker misses with a straight left.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

the warrior breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and the warrior counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Parker tries to bum rush the warrior with a series of wild strikes but the warrior uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
the warrior shoots in looking for a takedown. Parker tries to sprawl out of it but the warrior keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Parker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
the warrior looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Peter Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jason the warrior.
the warrior throws a head kick that Parker semi-blocks.
