Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
31 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Walter Kovacs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Irvin Ross! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ross fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kovacs decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kovacs postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Ross to stand up. Kovacs forces Ross back against the cage and clinches. Ross looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kovacs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ross connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Kovacs clinches up with Ross and pushes him back against the cage. Ross is trying to force a seperation but Kovacs has the dominant position. Ross gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kovacs.
Kovacs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ross's coach down at Land of the Rising Fun was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ross's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Irvin Ross seems to be getting the better of the standup. Ross gets tackled into the cage by Kovacs. Kovacs maintains the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kovacs works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Kovacs postures up in Ross's guard and throws a big left but Ross blocks it. Ross wants to stand up but Kovacs is controlling him. Ross is working an open guard so Kovacs takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Ross is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kovacs rather than just go for the knockout.

Ross drops Kovacs with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Kovacs! Ross dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
