The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLauglin throws a body shot but no joy.
Ruden misses with a leg kick
and Ruden takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut.
Ruden avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Joe Ruden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruden keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. McLauglin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Ruden's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? McLauglin is holding on here and Ruden must be using up a lot of energy. McLauglin has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Ruden gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
