And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLauglin throws a body shot but no joy.
Ruden misses with a leg kick
and Ruden takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut.
Ruden avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Joe Ruden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruden keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. McLauglin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Ruden scores with a takedown into McLauglin's guard.
Ruden trying to control the position from guard on top but McLauglin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McLauglin is controlling Ruden's posture.
McLauglin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

McLauglin content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Ruden has locked up a guillotine! Ruden's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? McLauglin is holding on here and Ruden must be using up a lot of energy. McLauglin has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Ruden gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
