The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lichfield walks forward, straight into a front kick from Gardner.
Lichfield closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gardner did well to prevent Lichfield getting side control.

Gardner is looking for a sweep. Lichfield is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lichfield is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gardner is just riding it out for now. Lichfield eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lichfield looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Gardner is looking to escape.

Gardner sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gardner has momentary wrist control but Lichfield slips an elbow through the middle.
We've been informed that Gardner has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Gardner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lichfield defends well.

Gardner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lichfield can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gardner takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Lichfield has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gardner's face.
Gardner can't escape the position.
The referee warns Gardner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Lichfield has hold of Gardner's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gardner manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Lichfield is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gardner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Gardner is rocked!
Lichfield postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Gardner badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Lichfield around the waist but Lichfield pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Lichfield is the winner by TKO! Lichfield jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Justin Lichfield!
Justin Lichfield bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
