Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Munchack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abed Nadir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Nadir's choice of entrance music: M.A.S.H Theme. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Franklin Munchack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Abed Nadir!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nadir decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Nadir looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munchack trying to control from the bottom.
Munchack is concentrating on defense, preventing Nadir from advancing position.
Munchack wants to improve his position but Nadir is controlling well.
Nadir with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Munchack is looking for a sweep. Nadir is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Munchack wants to control the action here but instead Nadir manages to pass to full mount!

Munchack sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Munchack tries to get to full guard but Nadir has control of the leg.
Nadir is controlling the pace.
Nadir prevents Munchack from improving his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nadir seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Munchack moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Nadir is fighting to break Munchack's control of his arms but Munchack is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nadir misses the shot to the body.
Nadir lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nadir.
Nadir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Munchack was well out of range. Poor timing from Nadir.
Munchack tries to counter with a takedown but Nadir is quick to defend against it.
Nadir scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Nadir closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nadir lands in his opponent's guard.

Munchack has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Munchack is on top in guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Munchack wants to pass the guard but Nadir is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abed Nadir dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Munchack tries to score a body lock takedown but Nadir shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Nadir. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Nadir has clasped his hands together around Munchack's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
You can see the frustration on Munchack's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Munchack throws a few strikes from the bottom but Nadir takes advantage and mounts!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Munchack tries to reverse the position but Nadir maintains control.
Nadir takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nadir prevents Munchack from getting the reversal.

Munchack tries to hold on but Nadir pushes him away.

Munchack is holding on to half guard well.
Nadir slows the pace down in half guard.
Nadir is continuing to stall.
Munchack is looking for a sweep. Nadir is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nadir has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Munchack is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nadir is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nadir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Munchack was well out of range. Poor timing from Nadir.
Munchack feinted with a counter takedown.
Munchack misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nadir throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nadir fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Nadir fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Nadir gets tackled into the cage by Munchack. Munchack maintains the clinch.
Munchack wants to take the fight to the mat but Nadir manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Nadir - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Munchack drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franklin Munchack. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nadir lands a knee to the body.
Munchack tries to pull guard but Nadir won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Nadir turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nadir manages to end up in side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Munchack tries to buck Nadir off but Nadir is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abed Nadir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Munchack is trying to drag Nadir to the mat but Nadir just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Munchack tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nadir smiles and moves away.

Munchack wants a takedown.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nadir takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Nadir tries a body shot but Munchack blocks it.
Munchack is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nadir gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Nadir is struggling to control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nadir prevents a takedown attempt there.
Munchack is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Nadir is defending well.

Abed Nadir comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nadir has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Abed Nadir made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
