0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Mihr! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mihr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but circles away quickly and effectively. Mihr forces back against the cage and clinches. has Mihr pressed against the cage, preventing Mihr from circling away and getting back to striking at range. throws an elbow but it misses.
is defending well against a takedown attempt. stalling the fight.
Mihr is trying to pull guard but turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mihr presses against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. can't find room to land a body shot as Mihr controls the action.
Mihr tries for a takedown but manages to get underhooks.
Gerry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Mihr. manages to break the clinch.
Mihr throws a solid leg kick but takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mihr.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Mihr does no damage. Mihr misses with the combination.
Mihr fails with the takedown and counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mihr has a closed guard, preventing from standing up. stands up and waves to Mihr to follow him. Mihr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. sneaks out the side door and pushes Mihr away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. John Mihr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. tries for a takedown but Mihr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. gets a takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. blocks the strikes from Mihr.
throwing shots but Mihr is blocking nicely. Mihr kicks off and gets back to his feet. Mihr scores with a takedown into 's guard. pushes Mihr off and gets back to his feet.
Mihr looks winded! gets tackled into the cage by Mihr. Mihr maintains the clinch. stalls.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mihr tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
dodges an elbow strike from Mihr.
really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
looks for a takedown but Mihr sprawls well. No luck for with that takedown attempt. Mihr lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Mihr shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. is trying to defend but Mihr finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. is controlling Mihr's position as best he can from this difficult position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mihr is trying to control. wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. is trying to get back to full guard. Mihr landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mihr looks to land a strike but avoids it nicely and regains full guard. is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gerry will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Mihr finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mihr. closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mihr did well to prevent getting side control. Mihr kicks off and gets to his feet. Mihr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mihr wants it to stay on the feet. Mihr throws a front kick aimed at 's knee but avoids it well. shoots for a takedown but Mihr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. tries for a takedown but Mihr circles away easily and Mihr counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for ! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gerry . That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mihr is trying to ground and pound but uses the momentary lack of control by Mihr to regain half guard. is defending against the submission attempts here by Mihr.
That's one minute gone in the round. wants to improve his position but Mihr is controlling well.
Mihr wants to stand but has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Mihr is nestled in close to , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mihr trying to control from 's half guard. has other ideas though and has regained full guard. had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mihr defends it easily. Mihr stands and throws 's legs to the side, diving into side control. managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Mihr.
Gerry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mihr has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mihr shoots in and drives through. sprawls well. shoots in looking for a takedown but Mihr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mihr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mihr trying to keep a closed guard but is proving a slippery customer.
Mihr preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. trying to control the position from guard on top but Mihr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mihr throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mihr wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. trying to control but Mihr is working from the bottom. landing some decent shots from guard. stands up from guard. Let's bang! shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mihr pinned against the cage. Mihr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mihr closes the distance and pushes back into the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Mihr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from there as he acknowledges the shot. Mihr stuffs the takedown attempt from . gets slowly back to his feet. Mihr tries to counter by closing the distance. Mihr fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
checks a leg kick. with a poor takedown letting Mihr counter with a right hand. Mihr moves into range and clinches up with . Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mihr just leaning against , taking a breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mihr jumps guard but stands there with Mihr around his waist. Mihr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Mihr wants a takedown but no success here.
Mihr takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Mihr is looking to control 's arms but gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mihr has his back to the cage. Mihr tries to work over 's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. tightens his grip and picks Mihr up, before dumping him to the ground. Mihr manages to land in guard. Mihr keeping moving, preventing from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. looking to sit in guard and control but Mihr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mihr tries to free his leg and advance position but is retaining full guard. is working an open guard so Mihr takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Mihr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mihr trying to control the position.
Mihr wants to stand but is controlling the position. Mihr keeping moving, preventing from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mihr's head. missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mihr looking to control.
Mihr is working an open guard so takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. John Mihr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mihr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with , pushing him back against the cage. taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. John Mihr seems to be getting the better of the standup. stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and wants it to stay on the feet. Gerry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Mihr. scores with a takedown into Mihr's guard. showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. gets to his feet. Mihr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Mihr misses the body punch and makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Mihr really felt that one! shoots in for a double leg but Mihr sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. backing away here, and Mihr unleashes a leg kick that just misses. dives in and grabs Mihr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mihr pushes down on 's head and hops out. Mihr fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt . Mihr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mihr sprawls well initially but persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gerry . I think has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
