Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benny Perez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Locke's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Locke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benny Perez! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Locke looks to score with a jab to the body but Perez is just out of range. Locke misses with a straight left. Perez tries to counter with a clinch but Locke shakes him off and moves away. Locke ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Locke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Perez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Perez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. A low kick from Locke misses and Perez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Perez is looking for a kimura here.
Perez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Locke defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Locke is just riding it out for now. Perez eventually gives up the hold. Perez is trying to work for a kimura but Locke is defending well.
Locke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground. Locke wants to get back to full guard. Perez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Locke has managed to free his arm - good work. Perez seems to be looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Locke is positioning himself well to prevent Perez advancing to mount. Perez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Locke defends it well. Perez is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Perez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Perez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Locke sees it coming and defends easily. Perez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Locke is just riding it out for now. Perez eventually gives up the hold. Perez is looking for a kimura but Locke is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Perez to get the leverage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Locke is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perez moves into full mount! Locke won't be happy about that! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Benny Perez dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Locke stuffs the takedown attempt from Perez. Perez gets slowly back to his feet. A looping hook to the body misses from Locke. Perez does a little dance to reset his feet. A shot to the liver by Locke. Beautiful body shot. Perez takes a body punch but keeps moving. John Locke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Locke sets himself, and Perez steps forward looking for the clinch! Locke avoids it this time. Perez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Locke counters with a stiff right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Locke lands with an uppercut that bounces Perez off the cage and back into range. Perez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Locke pinned against the cage. Locke gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. John Locke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Perez.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez dives in for a single leg takedown but Locke sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Locke works Perez's body with a nice hook. Locke throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Locke misses with a low kick. Locke throws a looping overhand right but Perez ducks down to avoid it. And Perez tries to counter it with a takedown but Locke pushes his down on his head and steps out. Locke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perez manages to avoid it. Locke just misses with a punch to the body.
Perez shoots in and drives through. Locke sprawls well. Locke looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A jab from Locke misses. Perez wants to counter with a clinch but Locke pushes him away. Perez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. John Locke is winning the standup battle so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Locke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perez somewhat. Perez shoots in for a takedown but Locke shows good takedown defense. Locke swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Locke is looking to wear down Perez with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Locke throws the left hand but Perez avoids the punch easily. Locke scores with a crisp jab that stopped Perez in his tracks. Perez fails with a takedown attempt. Locke rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Perez wants to counter the offense by Locke and move into the clinch position. This has been an exciting period of action! Perez moves into range and clinches up with Locke.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Locke breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Perez with the counter takedown but Locke avoids it easily. Perez goes for a double leg but Locke avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Locke continues to drive forward. Locke swings for the body but Perez moves out of range.
Locke lands a leg kick that knocks Perez off balance momentarily. Perez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Locke takes a swing at Perez's ribcage but misses. Perez wants to counter the offense by Locke and move into the clinch position. Perez takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Horrible takedown attempt by Perez or perhaps it was just good defense by Locke, which made it look bad. Perez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Locke tries to avoid it but Perez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Locke to the ground. Locke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Perez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Locke. Locke lands a nice shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Locke. Perez does a little dance to reset his feet. Perez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Locke swivels and escapes. Perez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Locke to score with a decent uppercut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Perez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Perez is breathing heavily. Locke feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Perez's calf. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Locke can pounce on him.
Perez fails to land the takedown. Locke paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Locke throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

We've been told by Locke's head coaches at LOD - Slaughterhouse that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. John Locke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Perez. Locke scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez dives in for a single leg takedown but Locke sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Perez fails with the takedown. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Locke.
Perez fails with the takedown. Locke throws out a leg kick but Perez moves out of range and Locke only half commits. Perez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Locke counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Locke with a body punch. A glancing blow. Locke connects with the punch. Oooooh!!! Locke has knocked Perez down with a huge combo! Locke steps away and waves a wobbly Perez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Perez is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Locke throws a leg kick but Perez moved away. Perez is still on wobbly legs! Can Locke finish him? A punch combination from Locke misses. Perez tries to counter with a clinch but Locke shakes him off and moves away. Locke drops Perez with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Perez! Locke dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Locke!
