Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes into the arena with KEN mode - Counter Culture Complex blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Fedor Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes lands a head shot.
Barnes staying out of range there.
Fedor Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barnes slips under a jab from Hunt.
Hunt with a jab.
Hunt looks for a takedown but Barnes sprawls well.
Hunt pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Barnes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hunt was well out of range. Poor timing from Barnes.
Hunt fails with the takedown.
Hunt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Paul Barnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Hunt.
Barnes ducks under a wild hook from Hunt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt walks into a jab.
Barnes lands a slapping body shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barnes is pushing Hunt up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Barnes tries a body shot but Hunt blocks it.
Barnes is pressed up against the cage. Hunt has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Barnes down to the mat. Barnes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Barnes moves out of range of the strikes.
Barnes swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Barnes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hunt throws a big shot that misses.
Paul Barnes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hunt misses with a right hand
and Barnes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Barnes throws out a powerful jab.
Barnes lands a really nice looking cross but Hunt seems unphased.

Hunt turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunt is looking to take a break and control but Barnes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
What's Barnes going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Hunt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Barnes, who protects the arm well.
Hunt trying to control the position but Barnes is working away.
Barnes is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hunt is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Hunt is trying to control here but Barnes has managed to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunt is trying to control. Barnes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hunt is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barnes defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barnes is not content to let Hunt control the position.
Barnes is looking to control Hunt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barnes avoid being mounted?
Barnes wants to improve his position but Hunt is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barnes trying to hold on to Hunt's head to control him but Hunt postures up.
Barnes wants to get back to full guard.
Barnes won't allow Hunt to pass to mount.
Barnes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hunt is working away from the top position though.
Barnes is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hunt is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Barnes swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Barnes takes the fight into the clinch.
Barnes has Hunt pushed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Barnes dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Barnes looks to land a right hand but Hunt moved out of range.
Hunt ducks under a wild hook from Barnes.
Barnes throws a jab when Hunt was well out of range.
Barnes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hunt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Good shot there by Barnes.
Barnes tries to clinch there but Hunt circles away.
Hunt tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Hunt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hunt lands in his opponent's guard.
Barnes pulls Hunt in close to his closed guard and prevents Hunt from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hunt wants to control from the top but Barnes keeps moving.
Barnes seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Barnes controls Hunt momentarily but Hunt frees himself.

Barnes pulls Hunt in to control the position.
Barnes trying to keep a closed guard but Hunt is proving a slippery customer.
Barnes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hunt trying to control the position from guard on top but Barnes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hunt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Barnes scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hunt doesn't seem bothered though.
Barnes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hunt stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Barnes takes a swing at Hunt's ribcage but misses.
Hunt with the counter takedown but Barnes avoids it easily.
Hunt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barnes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunt misses with an uppercut. Barnes saw that one coming.

Hunt lands a left and a right that send Barnes crashing to the mat, dazed. Hunt thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Barnes is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hunt shoots in for a takedown. SLAM! Brutal! Barnes is out cold and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Fedor Hunt!
Fedor Hunt bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
