Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Dominguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Solomon Dominguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodrigo Barrera! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barrera fails in his attempt to clinch. Rodrigo Barrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barrera rushes Dominguez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Barrera can't find room to land a body shot as Dominguez controls the action.
Barrera turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Barrera wants to control but Dominguez is keeping him busy. Barrera wants to take a breather but Dominguez manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Barrera. Dominguez is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Barrera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barrera has gone for a leg lock! Dominguez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Barrera's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dominguez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A cross from Dominguez lands. Barrera misses with a kick to the body and Dominguez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Barrera gets a takedown into half guard. It looks like Barrera is going to stand back up.
Dominguez wants to control but Barrera is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barrera tries to stand and escape but Dominguez is controlling the position. Barrera wants to take a breather but Dominguez is having none of it. Dominguez is positioning himself well to prevent Barrera advancing to mount. Barrera is looking to take a break and control but Dominguez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Dominguez regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrera being controlled here momentarily. Barrera wants to pass the guard but Dominguez is keeping the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Barrera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dominguez. Barrera is looking for the big counter here. Barrera closes the distance and clinches. Barrera pulls Dominguez into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Barrera throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barrera scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Barrera shoots in and gets a takedown into Dominguez's guard. Barrera postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrera trying to control but Dominguez is working from the bottom. Dominguez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barrera is looking to pass into half guard but Dominguez pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Dominguez is in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Barrera dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Dominguez clinches. Barrera pulls guard. Dominguez stands up and waves to Barrera to follow him. Barrera darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Barrera wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Dominguez uses the opportunity to regain full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barrera trying to control but Dominguez is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrera is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Barrera working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Barrera trying to control the position from guard on top but Dominguez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dominguez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barrera manages to get himself to full guard.
Dominguez won't allow Barrera to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dominguez gets to his feet - Barrera follows without any prompting. Dominguez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Dominguez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Barrera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dominguez to the mat! Dominguez manages to get full guard. Barrera is breathing heavily. Barrera wants to control from the top but Dominguez keeps moving. Dominguez pulls Barrera in close to prevent any damage. Dominguez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrera throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dominguez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Barrera wants to pass the guard but Dominguez is keeping the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Dominguez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barrera sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dominguez somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Barrera shoots in and gets a takedown into Dominguez's guard. Barrera trying to control but Dominguez is working from the bottom. Dominguez wants to sweep but no luck. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dominguez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Barrera is aware though and is defending well. Barrera controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Barrera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Dominguez gets caught flat footed, as Barrera shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Barrera has gone for a leg lock! Dominguez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Barrera's guard.
Barrera kicks Dominguez off and gets to his feet. Barrera fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dominguez to the ground. Barrera is now in Dominguez's guard. Dominguez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Barrera trying to control but Dominguez is working from the bottom. Barrera takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dominguez wants to sweep here but Barrera controlling him for the moment. Barrera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Barrera trying to control but Dominguez is working from the bottom. Dominguez is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dominguez scores with a jab. Barrera acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Barrera has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Excellent takedown into side control there by Barrera. Dominguez sneaks back into half guard. Dominguez has his hands clasped together around Barrera's back. He's all about the action. Dominguez trying to control but Barrera postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrera wants to stand but Dominguez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Dominguez is controlling Barrera's trapped leg to prevent Barrera from advancing to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barrera is keen to just control but Dominguez is a slippery customer. Dominguez regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Barrera.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dominguez wants to sweep here but Barrera controlling him for the moment. Dominguez pulls Barrera in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Barrera dives in and scores a takedown into Dominguez's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dominguez holds on and takes a little breather.
And that's the end of the fight! Rodrigo Barrera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Barrera winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
