Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Norton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Roy Peters has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Peters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Norton! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norton moves into the clinch successfully.

Peters manages to pull guard.
Norton scoring with punches to the head and body. Peters being controlled here, momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norton looking to pass the guard. Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Peters looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters pushes Norton off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Peters fails to land the takedown. Peters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Norton is fending him off so far but Peters persists. Nope, Norton circles away and we're back to standing. Norton wants to counter the offense by Peters and move into the clinch position. Norton wants to clinch but Peters slips to the side and Peters counters with a nice double leg into side control. Norton won't be happy with that. Norton throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Peters gets caught napping as Norton dives in and scores a takedown. Peters manages to retain guard. Peters controls Norton momentarily but Norton frees himself. Norton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peters wants to stand and escape but Norton is having none of it. Norton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Peters is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Peters has escaped and now he's on top! Norton thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Peters missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Norton has a closed guard, preventing Peters from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norton looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Peters wanted to stand there but Norton had control of the position. Norton looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Norton trying to keep a closed guard but Peters is proving a slippery customer.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Norton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

As Norton looks to move away, Peters throws a big counter combo but Norton just gets out of the way. Peters closes this distance looking for a takedown but Norton circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Peters. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Norton throws a right and a left that Peters avoids nicely. Jim Norton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Norton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Norton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Norton staying calm. Norton misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Peters is looking to reverse the position. Norton working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Norton dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Norton tries to clinch but Peters is having none of it. Peters fails to land the takedown. Peters shoots in for a double leg but Norton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The fight stays on the outside here - Norton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Norton drives through and clinches with Peters against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round. Norton decides to stand up, so the ref orders Peters to his feet. Norton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Peters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Peters appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Peters scores with a nice right hand.
Peters shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Norton defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Peters. That's going to take a lot out of him. Norton shoots in and gets a takedown into Peters's guard. Peters is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Norton dives into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Norton tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Norton tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Peters explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Norton closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Norton lands in his opponent's guard. Peters wants to sweep here but Norton controlling him for the moment. Norton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Norton won't allow Peters to get back to his feet. Norton drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Norton seems to have locked his on tight now - Peters screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Norton, as he picks up the win!
