PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chip Chocolate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huell Babineaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chocolate comes to the cage accompanied by Cookie Dance. Babineaux is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ready or Not. Huell Babineaux has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Chocolate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Huell Babineaux!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babineaux uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Chocolate.
Chocolate tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Babineaux was well out of range. Poor timing from Chocolate.
Babineaux appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Babineaux avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Babineaux steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Babineaux throws a hook to the side of Chocolate's head but Chocolate sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Chocolate moves out of range of the body kick from Babineaux.
Chocolate misses with a right hand

and Babineaux counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Chocolate tries to score a body lock takedown but Babineaux shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Babineaux throws a punch but it's blocked by Chocolate.
Babineaux lands a body punch in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Babineaux pushes Chocolate back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Chocolate wants the takedown. Babineaux is fighting it off but Chocolate persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Babineaux's guard against the cage.

Chocolate throws a strike but Babineaux rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Chocolate seems keen to control Babineaux's posture.
Babineaux controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Chocolate is pulling down on Babineaux's head. It's preventing any offense from Babineaux, at least for the moment.
Babineaux engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Babineaux's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Babineaux darts in and clinches Chocolate up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Babineaux misses with some punches.
Babineaux is working Chocolate over against the cage.
Chocolate is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chip Chocolate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Chocolate drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Chocolate is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Babineaux digs a right hand underneath Chocolate's ribcage. Chocolate let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Babineaux lands with a right to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Huell Babineaux dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Chocolate takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.


It looks like Chip Chocolate has been cut.
Chocolate uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Babineaux.
Babineaux misses with a left hand
and Chocolate counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Babineaux uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chocolate.
Babineaux works Chocolate's body with a nice hook.
Chocolate staying out of range there.
Chocolate steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Babineaux.
Chocolate walks forward, straight into a front kick from Babineaux.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chocolate takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Chocolate shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Babineaux's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Babineaux is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chocolate sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Babineaux manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chocolate manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chocolate is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Babineaux is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Babineaux is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Chocolate wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Chocolate tries to close the distance and clinch up but Babineaux swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Chocolate avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Babineaux lands a nice shot that snaps Chocolate's head back.
Chocolate throws a hook to the side of Babineaux's head but Babineaux sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Good leg kick by Babineaux there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Chocolate avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Chocolate throws a poor cross that misses

and Babineaux counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Babineaux.
A left hand lands to the body for Babineaux.
Babineaux will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Chocolate up against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Babineaux.
Chocolate can't get the takedown.
Babineaux has a couple of punches blocked by Chocolate.
Babineaux lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.


Chip Chocolate's cut is getting worse.
Babineaux lands a body shot in the clinch.
Huell Babineaux seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Babineaux gets through Chocolate's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Babineaux throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chocolates head.
Babineaux creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Chocolate's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Chocolate drops to his knees and Babineaux pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Huell Babineaux!
Our winner, Huell Babineaux, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
The defeated Chip Chocolate had this to say: 'I'm gonna take this loss with a grain of salt, or a grain of sugar, and put it in a cookie, and eat it.'.
