Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brandon Steel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bobby Sands!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sands looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steel is fending him off so far but Sands persists. Nope, Steel circles away and we're back to standing.
Steel scores with a jab to the body.
Steel lands a jab-cross combination.
Steel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sands with a poor takedown
and Steel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sands shoots in looking for a takedown. Steel tries to sprawl out of it but Sands keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Brandon Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Sands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel misses with a body shot.
Sands tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Sands goes for a double leg but Steel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Steel continues to drive forward.
Nice uppercut there from Steel.
Sands on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steel scores with a jab to the head.
Steel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Sands back to the cage. Steel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Steel seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Sands walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Steel lands a glancing blow to the side of Sands's head.
Steel connects with a body shot.
Steel scores with a jab. Sands acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Steel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sands shoots in for a takedown but Steel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sands.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Steel counters with a two punch combo.
Sands shoots in looking for a takedown. Steel tries to sprawl out of it but Sands keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Steel counters with a left to the body.
Sands looks winded!
Steel lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Steel misses with a two punch combination.
Steel is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Steel lands a head shot.
Steel thuds his right hand into Sands's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


Sands is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sands moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Sands is still on wobbly legs! Can Steel finish him?
Steel drops Sands with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Sands! Steel dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brandon Steel!

A very excited looking Brandon Steel rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
