Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Bernside! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid leg kick lands there for Bernside.
Young looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bernside scores with a nice strike. Bernside tries to land a leg kick but Young saw it coming and moves away.
Bernside jabs Young right on the nose. Young blinks but takes it well. Young throws the left hand but Bernside avoids the punch easily. Bernside lands with a good body shot. Bernside throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Bernside looks to throw the jab but Young is out of range. Young cracks Bernside with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Bernside keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Young. Bernside tries to land a body kick and Young counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Young tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bernside swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bernside throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Young attempts a counter takedown but Bernside avoids it well and moves away. Bernside throws a front kick that sends Young stumbling back into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young moves out of range as Bernside throws a body kick.

Bernside delivers a nice body kick. Bernside ducks under a wild hook from Young. Bernside misses with a low kick as Young jumps back. Bernside throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Bernside lands a nice leg kick that just misses Young's sensitive parts. A big left from Young misses. Bernside follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Bernside throws a low kick but Young moves out of range easily. Young is looking to clinch but Bernside is avoiding it.
Bernside lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've been informed that Bernside has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. It looks like David Bernside has been cut. Bernside doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bernside gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Young with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Our sources have told us that Young has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Bernside tries to throw a body punch but Young avoids it by throwing Bernside back against the cage. Young slowing the pace effectively. Bernside lands a hook that snaps the head of Young backwards. Bernside misses with the head strike.
Bernside breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bernside tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Donk. Bernside catches Young right on the button with a cross. Bernside defending well as Young loads up on a big left hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Young crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bernside - the referee stops the clock and Young gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bernside. Young manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Bernside closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Young out cold! Young corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). David Bernside! David Bernside spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
