Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Benn Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Casey's entrance music is Johnny Cash - I Won't Back Down. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casey jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

It looks like Nigel Benn Jr has been cut.
Casey looks to land a right hand but Benn Jr moved out of range.
Casey has been working on his boxing with his coaches at SinPro Gym in the buildup to the fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Benn Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

As Casey backs off Benn Jr throws a huge counter combo but Casey manages to avoid it all.

Casey lands with a hook. Benn Jr tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Benn Jr looks to land a combination but Casey avoids it well.

Casey tries to keep at a distance but Benn Jr has taken the fight into the clinch.

Casey misses with a hook. Benn Jr ducked under it nicely.
Casey has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Benn Jr feints a jab promting Casey to slip. Benn Jr then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Casey slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Casey throws a shot from downtown. Benn Jr moves away and avoids it.

Casey missing with a left hand there. Benn Jr was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Benn Jr is working the combinations to good effect here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Casey is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Casey will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Casey lands with a straight right. Benn Jr didn't see that one coming.
Benn Jr rushes Casey with punches - Casey moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Casey goes down! Benn Jr follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
