Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Benjamin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Barath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shelton Benjamin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Barath!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barath throws a push kick but Benjamin slaps the foot to one side.
Barath has his takedown stuffed
and Benjamin counters with a stiff right hand.
Barath takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Benjamin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Barath back to the cage. Benjamin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Chris Barath has been cut.
Benjamin with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barath is defended easily by Benjamin.
Benjamin cracks Barath with an open hand slap.
Barath scores with a takedown into Benjamin's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barath trying to control the position from guard on top but Benjamin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Benjamin controlling Barath's posture.
Benjamin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barath is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barath wants to control from the top but Benjamin keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Barath drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Barath seems to have locked his on tight now - Benjamin screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Barath, as he picks up the win!
