Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Madhaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hossein Vaziri Jr. (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). . Chooooooooon! I think Madhaki might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fela Kuti - Let's Start . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Madhaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 15 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hossein Vaziri Jr.! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madhaki misses with a leg kick. Vaziri Jr. with the counter takedown but Madhaki avoids it easily. Vaziri Jr. shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Madhaki throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Vaziri Jr. wants to control from the top but Madhaki keeps moving. Madhaki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Madhaki seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Vaziri Jr. slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vaziri Jr. trying to control but Madhaki is working from the bottom. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Madhaki throws a series of strikes that have Vaziri Jr. backpedaling.
It looks like Hossein Vaziri Jr. has been cut. Vaziri Jr. shoots in for a takedown but Madhaki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Vaziri Jr. jabbing away but nothing is landing. A head kick misses from Madhaki. Vaziri Jr. with the counter takedown but Madhaki avoids it easily. That's three minutes gone in the round. Vaziri Jr. tries to work over Madhaki's front leg with a kick but Madhaki checks it. Hossein Vaziri Jr. seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Madhaki misses with a jab, cross combination.
A solid leg kick lands there for Madhaki.
Madhaki lands a head kick that stumbles Vaziri Jr. and the fighters go to the mat. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vaziri Jr. is on top in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vaziri Jr. stays in close to Madhaki's body and controls the position. Vaziri Jr. is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vaziri Jr.'s corner. There ya go! There ya go! Madhaki is trying to hold Vaziri Jr. in close to prevent damage but Vaziri Jr. has managed to pass into half guard.
My spies in Russian Bears Elite Gym inform me that Vaziri Jr. has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Vaziri Jr. controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vaziri Jr. working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vaziri Jr. in particular looking to stall. Madhaki is trying is best to control the position here. Madhaki trying to hold on to Vaziri Jr.'s head to control him but Vaziri Jr. postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Vaziri Jr. seems content to control. Vaziri Jr. not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Madhaki is looking to escape. Vaziri Jr. seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Madhaki dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hossein Vaziri Jr.'s cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vaziri Jr. ducks right into an uppercut from Madhaki. Madhaki feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vaziri Jr.'s calf. Madhaki throws a sloppy head kick and Vaziri Jr. moves out of range easily. Vaziri Jr. scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Josh Madhaki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vaziri Jr. moves in looking to clinch but Madhaki pushes him off. Madhaki with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Vaziri Jr. shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Madhaki stuffs the takedown attempt from Vaziri Jr.. Vaziri Jr. gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Madhaki scores with a sloppy right hand. Vaziri Jr. should have avoided that one. Vaziri Jr. thows a leg kick but Madhaki checks it and Madhaki counters with a three punch combo that has Vaziri Jr. backing up. Vaziri Jr. nods at Madhaki to acknowledge the strikes. Madhaki lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Madhaki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Vaziri Jr. misses with a straight left. Vaziri Jr. throws a shot from downtown. Madhaki moves away and avoids it. Vaziri Jr. avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Madhaki tried to score with a low kick but Vaziri Jr. checks it. Madhaki looks to score with a jab to the body but Vaziri Jr. is just out of range. And Vaziri Jr. tries to counter it with a takedown but Madhaki pushes his down on his head and steps out. Vaziri Jr. misses with a double jab.
Madhaki is looking to counter with a body kick. Vaziri Jr. throws a left and a right that both miss
and Madhaki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vaziri Jr. feints and as Madhaki raises his hands in defense, Vaziri Jr. changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Madhaki has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Vaziri Jr. has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vaziri Jr. throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Madhaki doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Vaziri Jr. goes for a takedown attempt but Madhaki pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Josh Madhaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hossein Vaziri Jr.. Madhaki misses with a combination
and Vaziri Jr. counters with a low kick, right behind Madhaki 's knee. Vaziri Jr. looks to land a right hand but Madhaki moved out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vaziri Jr.. Madhaki lands with a kick to the temple. Vaziri Jr. shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Madhaki steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Vaziri Jr. is out on his feet! Madhaki sets himself and nearly takes Vaziri Jr.'s head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

A very excited looking Josh Madhaki made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
