Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ed Edy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Ames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ed Edy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ed Ames! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ames keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ames shoots in and bounces Edy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Edy wriggles free and stands up. Ames throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Edy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ames paws at him with a jab and circles away. A left and a right from Edy both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Ed Ames has been cut. Ames displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Edy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Edy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ames.
Ames shoots in and gets a takedown into Edy's guard. Edy wants to control the position but Ames says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Ames wants to free his trapped foot but Edy is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ames looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Edy has hold of Ames's hands but Ames slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ames looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ames is nestled in close to Edy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ames is thwarting Edy's attempts to control the position. Edy tries to get to full guard but Ames has control of the leg. Ames has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ames scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Ames. Ames wants to take a breather but Edy is having none of it. Edy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ames is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Edy! Ames scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Edy is looking to improve his position but Ames isn't that keen on the idea. Ames can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Edy is looking to escape. Ames punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edy bucks up and throws Ames to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! Ames looks for a takedown but Edy sprawls well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ames feints and as Edy raises his hands in defense, Ames changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Ames is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ed Ames dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ed Ames's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Edy throws a low kick but Ames moves out of range easily. Edy looks for a takedown but Ames sprawls well. And Ames tries to counter it with a takedown but Edy pushes his down on his head and steps out. Edy ducks under a wild hook from Ames. Edy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ames manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Edy avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ames shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Edy as he avoids it easily. Ames swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. It looked like Edy was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Edy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ames circles away from the clinch attempt.
Edy stuffs the takedown. Edy gets caught napping as Ames dives in and scores a takedown. Edy manages to retain guard. Edy is striking from the bottom but Ames uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Ames is pressing down on Edy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Edy is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ames lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ames frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ames avoids the attempt from Edy to control. Ames lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Edy tries to hold on but Ames pushes him away. Ames in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Ames lands a big shot there that rocks Edy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ames landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ames looking to control and managing it successfully. Ames tries to control but Edy wriggling away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ames cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ames has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ames connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Edy is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ames cracks Edy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Edy is trying desperately to improve position. Ed Ames has got the better of the ground game so far. Ames with the ground and pound from mount. The referee warns Edy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Edy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ames on the ground. Ames is landing with some decent strikes but Edy is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Ed Ames showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Edy moves in looking to clinch but Ames pushes him off. Edy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ames sprawls well. Ames wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Edy gets slowly back to his feet. The fighters circling - Ames throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Edy appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Edy tries to clinch up but Ames circles away and keeps his distance. Edy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ames sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Edy somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ames slips a straight right by Edy. And Ames tries to counter it with a takedown but Edy pushes his down on his head and steps out. Edy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ames fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Edy to the ground. Ames is now in Edy's guard.
