The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nabiyev decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Whitehead is trying to stand back up but Nabiyev is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nabiyev distracts Whitehead with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Nabiyev cracks Whitehead with a solid left hand.
Nabiyev loads up on a big left hand. Whitehead felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Nabiyev looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Whitehead can't hide his disappointment, as Nabiyev celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jusif Nabiyev!
