Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clay Skinner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logovii Mulipola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clay Skinner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Logovii Mulipola!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Skinner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mulipola looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mulipola is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Skinner has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Skinner controls the position from side control.
Skinner has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Skinner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mulipola has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mulipola tries to buck Skinner off but Skinner is having none of it.
Skinner takes a little break here. Mulipola wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mulipola is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Skinner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mulipola knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Skinner stands up and beckons Mulipola to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mulipola tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Skinner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mulipola napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mulipola tries to buck Skinner off but Skinner is having none of it.

Skinner gets to mount! Mulipola was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Mulipola is in all sorts of trouble here.

Skinner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Skinner content just to control the position here.

The referee warns Mulipola that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Skinner is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mulipola has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Skinner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clay Skinner dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Skinner throws a series of punches but Mulipola moves out of range.
Logovii Mulipola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skinner moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


It looks like Clay Skinner has been cut.
Mulipola swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Skinner counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Skinner throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mulipola is looking for a sweep. Skinner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mulipola is breathing heavily.

Skinner gets a double leg takedown into Mulipola's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mulipola tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Skinner connects with a couple of short punches.
Mulipola controls Skinner momentarily but Skinner frees himself.
Skinner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Skinner working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mulipola's head.

Mulipola has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Skinner has passed into side control.

Skinner is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Mulipola is trying to escape and Skinner transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Mulipola is forced to tap! Nice work there by Skinner! Very nice indeed!
