Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Chester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Chester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aaron Ward! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chester throws a right hand that Ward ducks under and follows up with a left that Ward also avoids with ease. Ward throws out a counter right but Chester avoids it with no problem. Chester looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Chester shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ward pinned against the cage. Ward gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Chester misses with a two punch combination.
Ward now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Chester tries for a takedown but Ward circles away easily and Ward connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like John Chester has been cut. Ward looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Chester tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ward defends well and Chester ends up having to push Ward into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Chester. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ward gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Chester is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Chester trying to control the position from guard on top but Ward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chester throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ward preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chester looking to pass the guard. Chester is in close to Ward's body, working some short punches and elbows. Chester throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ward works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Chester drops back looking for a leg! Ward is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ward manages to kick Chester off! Chester jumps back into Ward's guard. Chester is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chester accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chester is looking to work some ground and pound but Ward has wrist control. Chester thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chester stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ward swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chester. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ward controls Chester momentarily but Chester frees himself. Chester throws a big elbow that misses. Chester is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Chester lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Chester lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Ward can't keep his opponent in guard - Chester advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Chester slips a nice elbow through Ward's hands, connecting with Ward's forehead. Chester is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ward is just riding it out for now. Chester eventually gives up the hold. Chester sitting and controlling from the half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chester thows a huge punch but Ward dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Chester dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Chester's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Chester fails with the takedown and Ward counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. John Chester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from Chester. Chester fails with a takedown attempt. Ward is looking for the big counter here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Chester. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chester gets a takedown into half guard. Chester is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ward can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chester is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Chester perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Chester has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Chester sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ward defending well though. Chester is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Chester content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Chester missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Chester is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Ward is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). John Chester! After the fight, John Chester was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
