The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bookem bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yates's head backwards.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bookem!
Yates with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bookem to score with a decent uppercut.
Yates bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bullet Bookem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yates tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bookem swivels and escapes.
Bookem throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yates.

Horrible takedown by Yates or perhaps it was just good defense by Bookem which made him look bad.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Yates. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
