Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gerald Young II!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young II looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Young II has gone for a leg lock! Dingley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Young II's guard.
Young II is looking to sweep but instead, Dingley has passed into half guard.
Young II wants to get back to full guard but Dingley has mounted him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Young II tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young II regains half guard.

Dingley prevents Young II from improving his position.
Young II wants to sweep but Dingley has passed to side control!

Dingley decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Young II shoots in but no luck this time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dingley misses with the combination.
Dingley scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Dingley throws a combination. Young II tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Dingley throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dingley lands with an uppercut that bounces Young II off the cage and back into rage.
Young II shoots for a double leg takedown but Dingley sprawls well. He's pushed Young II's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Young II closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Young II lands in his opponent's guard.
Young II wants to pass the guard but Dingley is keeping the position.
Young II is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Young II sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dingley's guard.
Young II is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dingley reverses the position - he's now on top in Young II's guard.

Dingley wants to stand but Young II is controlling his posture from full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Young II can do anything to dispel that myth.

Young II wants to hit a switch here but Dingley passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Young II there!
Dingley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Young II is desperately trying to improve his position but Dingley has a good base and remains in mount.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Young II fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dingley throws a right and a left that both miss.
Young II takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Dingley looks to land a combination but Young II avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Young II closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Young II goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dingley has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Young II but great work by Dingley.
Dingley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dingley gets to mount! Young II was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Young II is desperately trying to improve his position but Dingley has a good base and remains in mount.
Young II sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Young II manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Young II has eaten all the pies!

Dingley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dingley lunges at Young II with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Young II's hand.

Young II must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Young II is trying to work for a kimura but Dingley is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No joy there for Dingley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice sprawl there from Dingley as Young II shoots in.

Dingley throws a combination. Young II tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Dingley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dingley lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Joe Dingley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dingley scores with a one two! Young II had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Dingley scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Young II tries for a takedown but Dingley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Joe Dingley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Young II.
Danga de danga de dang - Dingley scores with a four punch combination!
Dingley moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Young II fails with a takedown attempt.
