Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Foster Hester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Winther (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neil Winther has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Foster Hester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Neil Winther! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winther lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hester backs up against the cage.
It looks like Foster Hester has been cut. Winther tries to bum rush Hester with a series of wild strikes but Hester uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hester gets caught flat footed, as Winther shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Winther not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Hester could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Winther looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winther looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hester is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Winther is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hester might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Winther is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Winther feints and as Hester raises his hands in defense, Winther changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winther wants to stand but Hester is controlling his posture from full guard. Winther is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hester knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winther on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hester is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Winther sitting in guard here, content to control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Winther wants to stand but Hester has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Winther leaves Hester with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hester darts in looking for a takedown but Winther gets double underhooks and turns Hester into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Winther scoring well with a low kick there.
Winther closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Winther keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hester's efforts to push away. Winther has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hester uses from the top position. Winther wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Winther has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hester can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Winther pulls Hester in close to prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neil Winther dominated that round. The cut man is working on Foster Hester's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Winther pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hester looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hester gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Neil Winther has got the better of the ground game so far. Hester is striking off his back. Winther thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winther stalling. Winther wants to stand but Hester has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Winther connects with a nice short shot to Hester's temple. Winther is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hester sees it coming and defends easily. Still in half guard, Winther seems content to control. Winther is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hester defends it well. Winther is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winther slows the pace down in half guard. Winther seems to be working for a kimura but Hester defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winther is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hester has managed to free his arm - good work. Winther scoring with strikes to the body and head. Winther is nestled in close to Hester, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hester is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Winther scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hester missing with punches from the bottom.
Winther moves into full mount! Hester won't be happy about that! Winther controlling from the full mount. Hester working to try and regain half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Winther controlling the pace for now. Hester is controlling an arm, preventing Winther from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neil Winther showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Foster Hester's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Winther shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Winther has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Winther looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Winther content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Winther wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Hester uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Winther passes Hester's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Winther trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hester has hold of Winther's hands but Winther slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Winther seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Winther has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Hester works to full guard. Winther controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Hester gets caught flat footed, as Winther shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Winther controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

And that's the end of the fight! Neil Winther comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Winther has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
