Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hobert Sharpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Chan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hobert Sharpe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hobert Sharpe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Chan! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharpe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chan. As Chan tries to get set, Sharpe tries to push him back and clinch up but Chan manages to avoid the attempt. Chan shoots in looking for a takedown but Sharpe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sharpe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Chan lands a left and a right that send Sharpe crashing to the mat, dazed. Chan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Hobert Sharpe has been cut. Chan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sharpe as he avoids it easily. Hobert Sharpe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Chan. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sharpe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sharpe. Sharpe really is a fat lump. Sharpe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chan tries to avoid it but Sharpe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chan to the ground. Chan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sharpe has Chan up against the cage in a clinch.
Sharpe is trying to drag Chan to the mat but Chan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chan darts in and clinches Sharpe up against the cage. Sharpe prevents a takedown attempt there.
Chan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chan shoots in looking for a takedown but Sharpe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sharpe tries to keep at a distance but Chan has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sharpe tries for a takedown but Chan manages to get underhooks.
Chan displaying some good clinch control by pressing Sharpe up against the cage. Sharpe has hold of one of Chan's legs. Chan is fighting the takedown attempt but Sharpe gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sharpe defends well. Sharpe stopping the sweep attempt from Chan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sharpe is looking to work some ground and pound but Chan has wrist control. Sharpe won't allow Chan to sweep him here. Sharpe distracts Chan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sharpe is looking to work some ground and pound but Chan has wrist control. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sharpe scoring with some ground and pound. Chan wants to sweep but no luck. Chan looking to control.
Chan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Chan shoots for a takedown but Sharpe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chan is defended easily by Sharpe. Chan looks winded! Chan forces Sharpe back against the cage and clinches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Hobert Sharpe will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Hobert Sharpe's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Chan connects with a single shot there. Chan fails with a takedown attempt. Sharpe tries to counter by clinching up but Chan breaks away and moves out of range. Chan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sharpe counters by clinching up. Sharpe letting Chan take a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sharpe is defending well against a takedown attempt. Hobert Sharpe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Chan. Chan stalling against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chan lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Sharpe or not. Chan tries to pull guard but Sharpe won't allow it.
Sharpe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Sharpe lands a takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sharpe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Chan has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sharpe is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Chan manages to pull guard.
Sharpe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sharpe throws a big right hand that misses. Sharpe throws a strike but Chan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sharpe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chan is aware though and is defending well. Chan wants to control from the top but Sharpe keeps moving. Chan prevents Sharpe from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sharpe has his foot on Chan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chan works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sharpe trying to keep a closed guard but Chan is proving a slippery customer.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chan content to stall in guard here. Sharpe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Let's hope that Chan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sharpe is looking to clinch but Chan is avoiding it.
Chan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sharpe tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Chan manages to circle out of the way. Horrible takedown attempt by Chan or perhaps it was just good defense by Sharpe, which made it look bad. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The fight stays on the outside here - Sharpe looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sharpe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Chan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Hobert Sharpe's cut. That's the end of the round. That's four minutes gone in the round. Sharpe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chan has escaped the position, nice work there. Chan regains half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chan controlling the position well.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jack Chan. I think Chan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
